Swiss Economy Day – virtual for the first time

For the first time in its history, economiesuisse’s Swiss Economy Day was held as a virtual event. In addition to researching and analyzing suitable studios and setups, we were also tasked with developing all digital content for the 2.5-hour event, including an animated opening video, a highlight video directly following the event and a behind-the-scenes video. We were also responsible for the supporting communication such as landing page, banner and newsletter as well as the design of the web platform.

The event with the title “Sovereign small state Switzerland: A discontinued model?” consisted of a mixture of pre-produced and live program points. Examples included a youth debate with four young people, a fireside chat with Gita Gopinath (Chief Economist, International Monetary Fund), a panel discussion with young politicians and a talk with the national government, represented by Viola Amherd. At the end, the retiring president Heinz Karrer was surprised with digital messages which the audience could upload in advance. On site, McKinivan coordinated the event direction including the stage manager.

Digital storytelling is all about different perspectives and formats.

Drawings become animations, a storyboard turns into a video opener.

A microsite is the door to the digital event experience.
